Ice Cream Gift for 2 - 6 Year Olds

My son was invited to a birthday party for a little girl in his preschool class who was turning three. When thinking about things that my son enjoyed playing with, Play Doh came to mind. I had bought him an Ice Cream Play Doh set when his younger brother was born so that he could make us ice cream creations while we were in the hospital. It seemed like the start of a sweet gift for a sweet little girl. I started with the Play-Doh Sweet Shoppe Ice Cream Cone Container Craft Kit  which comes with a couple ice cream cones, a spoon, scoop, and a tool to extrude "ice cream." I love that it can all be stored inside the ice cream package. And of course, there is never enough Play Doh, so I ordered an extra set of the Play-Doh Sweet Shoppe Ice Creamthat happens to be packaged as an ice cream cone! Cute!

We love books at our house, and think books make great gifts for kids. Most kids are going to get a lot of toys for their birthday, so it is nice to get them something to read. My son loves Curious George and by his request I have read many Curious George stories to him night after night. I thought we would share this experience with the birthday girl. We gave her Curious George and the Ice Cream Surprise and Curious George and the Birthday Surprise. In typical Curious George fashion, George ends up both making a mess and helping while setting up for a birthday party that ends up for him. Below are a couple videos of these books being read to show you more about these stories:

To complete this gift, we included a gift card to a local frozen yogurt shop. This gift is fun for a 3 year old, but I know my 6 year old niece would also love it!
